GDk City         Godavarikhani is a Coalmine area in Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh. It is basically an mining area with a high population. It is surrounded by other mining areas like Manthani, Bupalpally, ramakrishnapur etc. Its located on the banks of Godavari river and thats how it gets its name Godavari + Khani (means mines). This town is popular for its coal mines controlled mostly by Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). But so many villagers lost their lands in Open cast Projects(OCP). Many Villages are surrounded by the Singareni Mines and Open casts. We have four Open casts. Mines         Godavarikhani is surrounded by Many no. of Coal Mines with thousends of Employees.The mined and refined coal is mostly consumed by the National Thermal Power Station (NTPC, Ramagundam) and Kesoram Cement Factory, Basant Nagar.Here we have four opencast projects. These are open coal digging places having sophisticated machinery.
